I think that Mrs. Paisie has a point. I mean, even if they’ll shorten the year by 5 days, there will still be last 5 days, and kids still won’t pay attention! So what should we do? I think I got some ideas. First, as a kid, I’d be VERY VERY HAPPY to shorten school by 5 days (who doesn’t?). But sadly, it’s still not enough. Maybe parents can buy books for their kids, instead of the school buying it. This way the school can save pretty much a lot of money. On the other hand, some kids can’t afford to buy it, and if they can’t their parents will send an email to the teacher saying that they can’t afford to buy it. Then the school will buy the books. Another way of saving money is to cut electives. Not that I want that to happen, but electives do cost a lot of money. Third and last, teachers should avoid using electronic devices. If I’m right, it DOES cost money to use electricity. I think that teachers and other employees should not get smaller salary because even if they get 10 hours off, they still can’t choose when to use it. I mean, they got almsot the same schedule. And we all know that employees work hard, and they should not get smaller salary. I just hope that the economy will get better, and we won’t have to fire so many people. That’s my ideas how to save money.

Well, as Ms. Paisie said on her blog, I think that we all HATE the EOG. I know that it is important for the county to know what the students learn, but they have very strict rules! I mean, you can’t even read when your done? How can a book help you solve a math question? It’s not like the book will give you the answer! For alternative test, I’d do something much more easy and you won’t have to repeat the grade you are in now. Sadly, there is always one person at least who doens’t pass. Some people just struggle with math or language arts, and it’s not fair. They just have hard time with it. We are not geniuses like Isaac Newtron or Albert Einstein! Well, at least not now… I think that the school should make its own test. If a student fails, he will still pass the grade but he’ll have extra classes after school the next year. I think that it’s better to have one hour extra of school than one extra year in school! In this extra hour, the teacher will help the student understand better the things he failed the previous year. This way, students will understand math or language arts better AND they won’t have to fear to stay in 7th grade, for example, again! I know that probably the county will still have the EOG, but at least they have little less strict rules. I mean, reading a book is good for you. I’m wondering to myself sometimes, why can’t we read a book after EOG or even bring a pillow to sleep after you finish? One way they can improve it is that when a student finish the teacher will just pick his or her test and then the student will have better time sitting in a chair for ninety minutes. I just hope that no one will fail this year!

I think that my life would be kind of inconvenienced without plastic bottles. Why? Many reasons. First, if we’ll all recycle plastic bottles there would be no problem and we’d make a lot of other stuff with it. Second, bottles made of glasses are not so good for the environment. Suppose that you drink Deer Park. Suddenly, the bottle dropped from your hand. What will happen? Nothing. Well, maybe you’ll have less water, but nothing will happen to the bottle. Now, imagine that you are drinking Coke, and the bottle is made of glass. The bottle falls from your hand. This time something will happen to the bottle. It will break up! You can get a cut from picking it up. That’s why I’d say that sometimes bottles made of glass can be DANGEROUS. If we’ll all drink from plastic bottles, there will be no glass on the streets, and hopefully no one will get any cut! Yes, I know that not all the people in the U.S are recycling, and some will never do it. I KNOW. But if most of us will just recycle, it is such an easy thing to do, we will make our environment better. Is it so hard to throw your plastic bottle to a recycling trash? I don’t think so! It is so easy I don’t even understand why people don’t do it. That’s why I think that plastic bottles are needed.

Well, there are a lot of stuff I’d do if I would not fair. First, I won’t have to study or do home work. Instead, I might play in the Wii or in the computer, or maybe I’ll watch some T.V., or maybe I’ll play my favorite sports, tennis. I can also play with my dog or take her for a walk. I can do exercise, running or jogging around my house. But, believe it or not, I think there is something positive about home work and school. It keeps you busy. Even I can’t watch T.V. ALL THE TIME. Sometimes it’s just getting boring. So if you have home work, it will keep you busy, and who knows, maybe you will learn something new. If you watch T.V. all the time, you’ll probably have to wear glasses, and I don’t think it’s so much fun to wear it. Well, that’s what I would attempt to do if I knew that I would not fail.

Well, it’s very hard for me to describe outsourcing… In my opinion, it is when people use other people from outside a company to get the same result and pay less. For example, a person from India probably gets less payment than a person in the U.S. Let’s say that a person in the U.S gets three thousands dollars a month, and a person from India gets 1,500 dollars a month. Again, it’s just an example. Both people will work for the same thing. Now, what do you think a company owner will do, pay three thousands dollars or pay 1,500 and get the same thing? I think he’ll go with the 1,500! And we all know that today the economy is not the best, and people want to pay less as possible. You see, the person from India get used to the 1,500 payment, that’s norman for him. In the U.S, 1,500 will be kind of low payment (I think). And that’s what outsourcing is for me.

Well, it’s very hard for me to describe outsourcing… In my opinion, people from the U.S use their power over people from other countries. First of all, what is outsourcing? For me, outsourcing is to let people from outside the company do the job. Again, it’s hard for me to describe it. The people in the U.S kind of “trick” other people from other countries. You see, people from China, for example, don’t get as much payment as people in the U.S do. Let’s say that a person gets three thousands dollars a month, and a person from China will get half of it. Again, it’s an example. I can also say that todays economy is not the best, and people want to pay less and less. So here is their answer. Outsourcing. They can pay less for a person from China and get the same thing. This way, they save 1,500 dollars. So overall I say that a person can pay less and get the same result if he’s doing outsourcing. My dad, for example, works for Cisco company, and he needs to go abroad a lot of times to see how people work for Cisco in other countries, so Cisco save a lot of money. And that’s what I think is outsourcing.

The best Present I ever gave was last Christmas break. Even though I’m Jewish and I’m not celebrating Christmas, this year I decide to “copy” something from the “Santa holiday”. As you probably know, Jews celebrate Hanukah. I was walking with my dog when I thought of it… In Hanukah, we DON’T give to each other presents each day (so many people told me that in Hanukah you give presents each day, but it’s NOT true). So I was thinking about something special that my family and me can do together. Then I thought of it: give each other presents! You are so smart Asaf, I thought to myslef. I told my dad about my idea and he agreed. My mom and brother didn’t agree first, but after I begged them without stopping they agreed. “But not a lot of money”, my mom said. Yea yea, whatever, I said to myself. Then the shopping began… I wanted to buy the thing that my family wanted the most. For my brother I bought one of this really big Nerf guns, for my mom I bought a coat, and for my dad I bought some work tools. It the end, everyone was happy, and that’s the important part.

I think the advertising is a very smart thing to do. Why? If people see a commercial on TV about a new store, they will KNOW that there is new store and they’ll go there. Without advertising, people won’t know new stores or places. One good example of advertising is Mcdonalds. From what I see on TV, every other commercial is Mcdonalds. “Ooooooo, I’m loving it!” getting a little annoying, but I have to admit, millions of people eat Mcdonalds every month, and I don’t even want to know about how many people eat Mcdonald every day…. Maybe their logo attract people. I mean, so many kids know who’s Ronald Mcdonald… The more advertising a shop has, the more people will come. People won’t just go into their car try to find new stores. In my opinion, people go to famous stores like Target, Walmart and so. And now I have to say something to small shops and stores: people, just get your own clown, name him a stupid name, and be happy…

I think that there are positive and negative things about giving scholarship to athletes in ninth and 10th grade. The positive thing is that the kid can get more education and have a career in the age of fifteen, for example. Nowdays a lot of kids in the United States don’t go to college in young age. And if you ask me, this basketball thing is kind of a job. You do something to your boss, and you get paid. I think that something like going to college at age of fifteen could be fun. On the other hand, there is a negative side to the story. The kid might have hard time getting friends. It’s not that easy playing with people three or four years older then you. And learning could be hard, doesn’t matter what your doing there. A kid who used to be in high school gets doubel homework at that stuff. And he might have to live in a room with other people. I’m not sure about that they live in rooms at that young age, but if they do, it must be hard been away from home for a long time. The good thing is that you can also come and visit your family. Distance could be a negative thing too. I’m sure no one wants to be so far from his family. For example, who would like to go to collge in California when your family live in Florida? Not me.

Money, money, money… Too bad we need money for living. For a lot of people, money is the way to survive, and I’m one of this people. I mean, everything the human need to have in order to survive comes from paying money. Food, water, electricity (you can survive without it but a lot of people use it), a house (which costs a lot usualy), and other things that I didn’t mention. I know that this is probably only a dream, but I want to have a world where everything is free, where you don’t have to struglle to survive. I mean, if everyone got everything free, people won’t live is the streets, EVERYONE will be happy, and that’s what I want. One problem with my dream is that if everyone will get everything free, no one will have to work and then all the things we use such as cars and electricity will be gone. Of course that nowadays you need money because of the economy, but who knows what’s going to happen tomorrow, in couple of years… When I was in Washington D.C, there were so many people who lived on the streets, and it was such a sad thing to watch… I just hope that very soon, the world will be better, without people dying on the streets, without starvation of millions of people around the world…
